BEHIND THE LENS

Hi I’m Emily, but most people call me Em! I’m a Mom & Wife, photographer, animal lover, coffee consumer, and storyteller.

My professional photography journey began in 2018. So much of my life’s story has lead me right to this very moment with you, writing my bio.

Over 20 years ago I became the proud owner of a 3.2 megapixel point and shoot, 15 years ago I picked up my first film camera and spent hours upon hours developing in the high school darkroom. Pursuing not just photography but my love for fine art and graduated from University of Iowa in 2011 with a degree in K-12 Art Education. After years of taking photos for myself, friends, and family— I invested in my first truly professional camera in 2018 and launched my business.

Growing up I have had the amazing experiences of capturing moments across the globe- Peru, Ecuador, Uganda, South Africa, India, all over Europe, and to every coast of the United States. Now my heart is home in Mchenry, Illinois— capturing every moment with my family on our small farm. I still LOVE every opportunity I can pursue my photography passion while traveling— but capturing those intimate home moments are what I cherish most.
